The problem with having excellent customer service is that it makes the customers keep coming! So it may be hard for Rick to find time to get out of the shop sometimes, but we certainly appreciate the deal! Especially when such service excellence is maintained during those busy times — Rick and Francine were both friendly and helpful. I didn't feel rushed, or pressured to spend more than I needed to, or even pressured to buy from them at all. Which, naturally, made me happy to.

We sell, service and repair outdoor power equipment. To name a few, we service lawn mowers, ride on mowers, zero turns, chainsaws, push mowers, blowers, line trimmers, water blasters....the list goes on.
About us
Rick and Francine started Franick Chainsaw and Mower Services in September of 2015. Rick has over 30 years experience in the industry and is a Qualified Small Engine Mechanic with extra training on John Deere and Walker Mowers, a Level 3 Stihl Diploma and a Kohler Expert Level Technician Certificate. Francine has over 25 years experience in retail and is responsible for our sales, accounts and marketing.
We believe in good old-fashioned service, the best advice possible and most importantly making sure what you buy suits your needs! There is nothing worse than buying something that does not do the job.
Outdoor Power Equipment & Tools
We're able to service any outdoor power equipment. To name a few we service ride on lawn mowers, ride on mowers, zero turns, chainsaws, push mowers, blowers, line trimmers, fertilizer spreaders, water blasters.... the list goes on. We also sharpen chains, garden equipment and even spades!
We offer a reminder system where we can text or email you, to let you know a service is due and also a log in system for more frequent customers who like to have access to their invoices come tax year.
Pick-up & Drop-off for Servicing
We offer a pick-up and drop-off service, there is a small fee for this depending on your location.
Our fees allow for staff costs, fuel and wear and tear/milage on the van.
We have opted, as always, to keep our return trip complementary.
Fees fall into 4 price structures. Feel free to ring our team for clarification if you are unsure on your rate.
Zone 1 - $50

Zone 2- $75
Maraekakaho, Te Awanga, Puketapu, Haumoana, Taradale, Raukawa
Zone 3- $85
Waipawa, Otane, Crownthorpe, Eskdale, Rissington, Maraetotara
Zone 4 - $100
Waipukurau, Takapau
Our Team
Working alongside us (Rick and Francine) our team has now expanded to include Camryn and Rob. Casual mechanics Sid and Steve come in during the busy season to support Rick and the team.
- Camryn works in the office alongside Francine, looking after our accounts and invoicing side of things.
- Francine focuses on accounts, sales and social media.
- Rick is our head mechanic and also does sales.
- Rob is our mechanic; he supports Rick in the workshop helping to repair your equipment.
For our Hawkes Bay Schools
For all Schools, Kohanga Reo and Early Childhood Centres we offer a set 10% discount on all servicing and sales of parts. For new units we will quote the prices at the time.
